Independent Election Commission (IEC) on Monday said that audit and recounting process have been completed in three provinces out of seven, and the rest will be finished today (Tuesday).
According to IEC, audit and recounting process has already been ended in Panjshir, Jawzjan and Sar-e-Pul provinces.
Panjshir result sheet was reached to the central office of the IEC, said one of the IEC spokesman Zabihullah Dadat to VOA.
He said that probably the audit and recounting process will be ended in seven provinces by Tuesday.
The process was stopped by the supporters of the “stability and partnership” electoral team in seven provinces and has been resumed after Chief Executive Abdullah Abdullah last Sunday in 15th December called on his supporters to allow the procedure.
Based on IEC information, votes of 1,379 cites needed to be audited and recounted in Takhar, Badakhshan, Sar-e-Pul, Jawzjan, Faryab, Baghlan and Panjshir provinces.
Another IEC spokesperson Mirza Mohamad Haqparast said to soon announce the initial reports of the presidential elections once the votes recounting process done.
The observer organizations of election insist that the IEC must end the process first and then announce the primary result.
This came while “stability and partnership’ team leading by Dr. Abdullah seeks audit and recounting of votes in 27 provinces.
The commission said Sunday that the recount process was going on speedily and the primary result of election would be amounted soon after the recount was done. But Abdullah’s allies say that the commission had not decided to whether recount the polls of nearly 1000 sites. Abdullah had earlier said he agreed with the recount of seven provinces. But he previously insisted on invalidation of 300,000 polls as condition of the poll recount.
